After having interned for Rumbold & Seidelman during law school, Melissa Struck, Esq., joined the firm full-time in September 2024. She is licensed in New York and New Jersey and practices exclusively in the areas of assisted reproduction and adoption law.

Melissa is passionate about family building and brings boundless energy and dedication to her clients.

Education & Publications

Melissa earned her juris doctor degree from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she concentrated in family law and served as Peer Review Editor on the Family Court Review. She also holds a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature and Language from Harvard University.

Her notable published legal work includes, “Whether you’ve tied the knot shouldn’t matter: Anyone, regardless of marital status, should be permitted to adopt in New York if it is in the child’s best interests,” published in the April 2024 issue of the Family Court Review.

Background & Personal Life

Prior to attending law school, Melissa worked at True Office Learning, where she developed custom ethics and compliance training courses for businesses. Prior to that, she had a career in publishing at Cambridge University Press.

Melissa lives on Long Island with her husband and two children.
